Does RACECOOL Work? How well?

A water pump test (ASTM D-2809) is a vital test for determining the ability of a coolant to protect the water pump from failure.  The pump on the left was tested with inadequate chemistry to protect it from erosion.  The pump on the right was tested with RACECOOL formulation.  The truth and the results are obvious!!!

OK, so why doesn't everyone use RACECOOL.  Frankly, we don't know…………..Well, actually we do!

The best answer is that everyone is not a RACER or a HOT RODDER.  The family van and drive to work cars don't typically need better heat transfer like a High Performance Engine.  So RACECOOL is not for the average driver nor the average engine.  It is for the RACER and HOT RODDER.  It is designed not as an ANTIFREEZE but rather a COOLANT.  Its primary purpose is to extract heat while protecting metals.

D-2809 (water pump test) is only one of many test performed.  Some other tests performed are……..ASTM D-2570 (sim serve test) and ASTM D-4340 (aluminum puck test)
